This mount is one of the smallest on the market. It will span 4.5 x 14 x 5.6 inches of your ceiling, securing itself and a 40-pound projector with its steel fixtures. It can sit flush to the ceiling or you can attach an extension piece that will drop the projector up to 14 inches. The extension is perfect for rooms with tall ceilings. Once the projector mount is installed and the projector is bolted into place, its position can still be fine-tuned. The ELPM-01 can rotate 360 degrees around its base and can tilt 30 degrees back and forth. Adjustments side to side cannot be made after installation.
A universal mounting pattern is the first step in Level Mount’s easy installation process. With the included hardware and installation manual, installing the mount to the projector and the mount plate to the ceiling should be a breeze. Of course, it may take a while to determine which hardware works best with your projector, but that is all part of the universal mount blessing/curse. It may not be easy to find a match, but you will eventually find it.
The Level Mount ELPM-01 has few additional features. It is designed to do one thing: securely hold a projector. And it does it well. As a result you won’t find a key and lock system or a quick release feature for when you need to clean the projector or change the light bulb. This mount also can’t compensate for a sloped ceiling, so it must be installed on a flat ceiling. Cord management is available by threading your cords down trough the extension pole.
Level Mount’s website is intended to be a great resource for their customers. But the links on ELPM-01’s product page directing you to online tutorials and a user manual do not work. If you have questions, we’d recommend skipping straight to the support phone number or contacting Level Mount via email. We contacted them regarding the ELPM-01 by email and received an answer back within a day. The emailed response from customer support was detailed and answered all of our questions. Level Mount also has a great warranty. All products are covered by a lifetime warranty, and your projector is covered as well. If any damage to your projector occurs as a result of a manufacturer defect in the projector mount, they will pay the cost of repair or replacement up to $2,000.
While it is true that the Level Mount ELPM-01 is lacking most of the features we look for in a projector mount, its qualities far outweigh the lack. We love the all-inclusive warranty that covers the mount and the projector – no other manufacturer has anything that comes close.
