The Mount-It brand has been a top competitor in several of our mount-related sites. The quality of their projector mounts again earns them a spot in the top 10. The Mount-It MI-602B is one of two projector mounts Mount-It has to offer, and it is by far the better of the two. It has a black finish and is made of a heavy-duty aluminum. Aesthetics aside, it has standard specifications and limited features. It was designed to host your projector and does just that – nothing more, nothing less.

The MI-602B is compatible with small to medium projectors, weighing, at the max, 33 pounds. Anything weighing more than this is unsafe for the projector mount to handle. It is a little bit bigger than its competitors, spanning your ceiling at 7.2 x 7.2 x 11.7 inches. The large height is due, in part, to the extension capabilities of the telescopic pole. The projector won’t sit flush to the ceiling, but it can extend from 11.5 to 15 inches. When properly mounted, the projector can be adjusted 360 degrees around the base of the mount and can tilt plus or minus 30 degrees back and forth.

The MI-602B is advertised as a universal mount with a mounting pattern that fits most models of projectors. Universal mounts come with a ton of hardware, with at least one set to match your projector. To install the Mount-It MI-602B, the included user manual should be sufficient in walking you through the process. Because of the adjustable extension pole, this mount has a built-in cord management system. Simply run the cords down through the pole to the projector to minimize unsightly cords. We say minimize because, most likely, you will still have cords running up your wall from the power outlet that would need to be taken care of a different way. Other features, like a key and lock system to prevent theft and a quick release mechanism, are not available. Additionally, the mount can’t compensate for sloped ceilings, meaning you would have to install it into a flat ceiling.

To directly contact Mount-It, you can either use their online email form or call them during normal business hours. Their online support form is fairly simple to fill out, and they claim to answer all questions within “1-2 hours on business days and 3-5 hours on weekends.” However, we filled out their contact form with specific questions and still haven’t heard back. They back up their MI-602B with a five-year warranty that covers defective parts in the mount. This warranty does not cover any damage your projector may receive while mounted.
