The ProMounts UPR-PRO200 is ProMounts' top of the line projector mount. It has a fantastic range of movement and extension range, probably one of the best in our top 10 lineup. Where this product stumbles is in additional features and customer support.
We can’t stress enough how impressive this mount's range of movement is. In fact, its rotation capabilities, 360 degrees around the base, rank up with the best on the market. Its pitch, or tilt adjustments are 20 degrees in either direction, as are its roll (side to side) adjustments. Pretty much once the projector is installed you can move the projection anywhere you want. Another huge advantage the PRO200 has over its competitors is extension length. You can place the projector from 11.42 to 32 inches from the ceiling. This extension length is perfect for vaulted ceilings. The mount is available in a black or white steel finish.
ProMounts has made their mount fairly easy to install. They include both a user manual and all the mounting hardware you’ll need for proper installation. You won’t be able to download this user manual online, and customer support is hard to get a hold of, so keep an eye on those instructions. The mount has a universal mounting pattern, which means it should be compatible with every projector on the market.
Because the UPR-PRO200 extends up to 32 inches from the ceiling, the extension tube is the perfect place to wrangle all the cords that you need for the projector. Simply run them into the tube and down to your projector. Of course you’ll need to find a way to conceal the cords on their way up to the mount, but that’s a whole different review!
To easily maintain your projector, ProMounts has designed the PRO200 to have a quick release function. This feature allows you to disconnect the projector easily from the mount for cleaning or repairs. The PRO200 doesn’t have a way to safe guard against theft, such as a key and lock system, like competitors do. If you're using the mount in a residence, this missing feature isn’t as important as it would be in a commercial facility.
We hate to be so hard on ProMounts when it comes to customer support, but it really is the one area they need to work on. They have both an online contact form and a phone number to call for assistance. We tried to reach them both ways (and during regular business hours), and were unsuccessful. After getting through their initial phone tree to customer support we were directed straight to voicemail. We then filled out the online email form with our questions. However, we still haven’t heard back. To top it all off, ProMounts does not include a warranty with the PRO200 or any of their products. Perhaps you would have more success connecting with ProMounts via their Facebook or Twitter account.
ProMounts manufacturers quality products at industry standard prices, but they just don’t deliver on the customer support end. We could have ranked the ProMounts UPR-PRO200 higher if we had heard back from our online inquiry or talked to a human being when we called in. But the truth is, customer support is a key element in any quality product.
Pros
The PRO200’s range of movement is one of the best on the market.
Cons
ProMounts doesn’t offer any type of warranty with the PRO200.
The UPR-PRO200 isn’t the best mount on the market, but its range of movement makes up for its lack of features.
